La vida de LÁZARO DE TORMES sirve de crónica para escenificar una época, el Siglo de Oro español, donde vemos crecer a su protagonista: un pícaro al que el destino le lleva de amo en amo, sufriendo desgracias desde su nacimiento junto al río Tormes, pasando por su mísera infancia, hasta su matrimonio, ya en la edad adulta. Una adaptación que preserva la esencia y crítica social del original, mostrando, a través del humor y la ironía, un reflejo claro y transparente de la sociedad de la época.
Una brillante y ágil comedia que supone una joya del humor y picaresca y una de las mejores comedias de nuestro Siglo de Oro español.
